Guatemala’s astronomical observatory is aiming to become the country’s first observatory of its kind. It will be an astronomical, scientific, and technological hub for entrepreneurs across the globe, and will serve as a focal point between its Mayan heritage and new technological/research activities.

 

The El Espacio 3 team, comprised of several of the firm’s seasoned architects, was selected from among 370 applications. On top of being chosen as a finalist, Cardin Julien also received an honorable mention to highlight the relevance of its architectural proposal. El Espacio 3 offers the people of Guatemala an architectural project dedicated to science and the mysteries of space, inspired by Mayan mythology.
