St. Donat Residence named to Archdaily’s Building of the Year 2021 competition

The project consists of the extension of the existing cottage, including the addition of a garage and glass roof, as well as the renovation of the interior of the residence. Built over 50 years ago, the residence required modifications to make it comfortable in summer and winter, while adding value to the building by improving its energy efficiency. In order to achieve a similar feel for the occupants to the original construction, simple geometric shapes, the use of wood in the interior and the use of raw materials such as stone, glass and steel are used in all aspects of the project.
